The Sundered Crown's Gambit

Updated: Jul 9, 2023

A group of diverse adventurers standing on a mountaintop, gazing at a distant castle shrouded in mist, symbolizing their upcoming quest
How far will you go?

In the realm of Eldoria, a wise seer, burdened by a prophetic vision, seeks a noble rogue to map the history of an old and complex castle. This rogue wants to solve the puzzle of an ancient door that can only be unlocked by an obsidian amulet. Little do they know that their quest will set in motion a chain of events that threatens to open old wounds and unleash a tyrannical power.

Accompanied by a charismatic bard and a plucky warrior, the rogue ventures into the heart of a cavern, where a diabolical sorcerer, obsessed with power, wants to claim a hidden artefact of the sundered kingdom. With dexterous agility, they navigate the treacherous maze, aiming to disarm the trap that guards the throne room.

As they reach the summit of the castle, the rogue faces their greatest challenge yet: a duel with the necrotic warlock, who wants to start a war on Eldoria. They must win this battle to prevent an ancient evil from being released upon the land.

But there's a catch. Victory in the duel will come at a great cost. The rogue will be exiled forever, forsaking their homeland and sacrificing their chance for peace. They must make this sacrificial choice, knowing that it will bring darkness to those whose path they cross. The gods will punish them and they will suffer an injury that does not heal.

Yet, with unwavering determination, the rogue embraces their destiny. In a final desperate charge, they unleash a masterwork spell, imprisoning the nefarious warlock within an ever-burning crystal prison. The sundered kingdom is saved, but the rogue's journey comes to an end. It was their last adventure and they depart from the realm of Eldoria, leaving behind a legacy of valiant heroism.
